According to Netflix, the official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Three years after winning the Squid Game, Player 456 is determined to find the masterminds behind it and put an end to their vicious sport. Sung Ki-Hoon begins with the most obvious place to start: using the large sum of money to fund his search, he searches for a man in a sharp suit playing dakjis on the subway. But when his efforts finally bear fruit, the path to destroying the organization proves more dangerous than he had imagined.
Hwang then offered fresh information about the Emmy-winning drama's second season as well as its third, revealing that he has written and shot both seasons simultaneously and is currently in the editing process for season three, scheduled to debut in 2025.
“If you look at Seasons 2 and 3 from a larger perspective, it's a simple story, but there's an inflection point in it that leaps the story in a different direction, which is the ending of Season 2,” the showrunner told the outlet. But there are some shocking twists and turns along the way. 'When fans see the end of Season 2, they're going to be mad at me,' he said. Why are you doing this? I want a Season 3 right away!
