Looking for the answer to today's Connections puzzle, puzzle #536 on November 28 had a lower difficulty level than yesterday, with a difficulty of 2.3 out of 5 for Connections Companion.
Each day we update with clues and hints to help you find the four answers. And if the hints are not enough, all four answers are listed below, along with the category title and related words. In addition, for those of you reading this in another time zone, I have included a reflection on yesterday's puzzle, #535.
There are spoilers for connection 536. Only read this if you want to know the answer to today's connection.
Or see our NYT Connections How to Play Guide for tips on how to solve the puzzle without our help.
While today's wordle solution guide recommends the best wordle starting words as a strategy, the Connections solution depends on identifying the categories that are connected from the 16 words. The difficulty of each category is represented by a color, with yellow being the easiest grouping and purple the most difficult. Hints are helpful as the answer is displayed after four wrong guesses.
If you need a hint to solve the groupings, here are each theme in order of difficulty:
These hints should at least help you find the answer to today's connection. If not, please continue reading for larger hints. Also, if you just want the answer, scroll down further.
Here's a bigger tip: Avoid the crooks, don't overeat, remember the tacos, and practice gratitude while easing through your turkey day.
Now, what's the answer to today's game #536 connection?
Drum roll please.
Today's relatively mild puzzle is to make Americans gluttonous and, hopefully, actually grateful.
Having seen purple first today, it was easy to go down the line saving purple as a good ending. Like yesterday, today began with an invitation to join a “trap” group, and today it was Thanksgiving related.
The yellow was gratitude with credit, praise, recognition, and thanksgiving. Gratitude.
I always think of cheaters as soon as I see the word yarrah before I think of ducks. Thus, I am quick to spot cheats, frauds, and fakes.
Speaking of gluttony, let's slow down today.
Then there's Fat Tuesday, Giving Tuesday, Super Tuesday, and Taco Tuesday. Tacos were my clue to this one.
Thanks to anyone who actually read this little essay below the clue.
If you celebrate Thanksgiving, have a happy and relaxing Thanksgiving. If not, enjoy your Thursday.
You are reading this late in the day. According to Connections Companion, the difficulty level was 2.7 out of 5.
The rubber baby buggy bumper at the top was cute.
With this obvious clue at the top, I figured each of the four rhymes was in a separate collection.
I saw glitchy and started with buggy; Erratic and spotty are similar enough to complete the yellow grouping.
Rim and bumper caught my attention and at first I was thinking edge. However, I ended up with the grille and mirrors.
Here I almost struck out on the day. I stuck with tribute (band), wedding (band), and house (band) and coupled it with boy (band). It didn't work, so I added Pet (band) which I can't explain well. Strike two; I refused to accept Rubber (band) when the other three clues were music based. I am still annoyed by this. I thought it was less tricky than the symmetry irritated me.
Anyway, the blue was like hiring a sitter for babies, houses, pets, plants, etc., and it filled out like a memorandum. If I hadn't been so adamant about band groupings, I might have seen this sooner.
