Thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, next year's Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup should be a strong smartphone.
Benchmarks of the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra have been leaked, suggesting that it will outperform the S24 Ultra in terms of performance. We also stumbled across benchmarks of the base model S25.
However, it has not been clear how the new processor will perform on the Galaxy S25 Plus, which is in the middle of the lineup.
Thanks to a new leak from tipster Jukanlosreve on X, we finally have one, and boy, does it look impressive; Geekbench benchmarks it at 3,160 single-core and 9,941 multi-core.
The model tested appears to be running Android 15, 10GB of RAM (an odd amount of RAM), and 4.47GHz.
These scores blew away the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and beat Apple's iPhone 16 Pro Max and A18 Pro chipsets. Furthermore, compared to the leaked information on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, it outperforms the Ultra in single-core tests.
Samsung consistently loses to Apple in single-core tests, where A-series chipsets tend to be more powerful. It is in multi-core where Samsung holds the lead, regularly outperforming Apple's processors.
The latest Apple Pro phone is an excellent device and a significant improvement over the S24 Ultra in our comparison. However, even the Pro model seems a step behind the S25 Plus and Ultra models.
As always, we note that the one leaked benchmark only suggests that the Galaxy S25 Plus may be a powerful device. However, we have seen benchmarks of phones that have already been released with Qualcomm's latest chipset, such as the OnePlus 13, which confirms the next generation of Android phones will be powered up. As such, we are taking this leak with just a bit of a grain of salt and expecting a significant improvement.
The entire Galaxy S25 lineup should be significantly more powerful than the S24 series. The standard S25 had a disappointing leaked Geekbench score of 2,481 on the single-core test and 8,658 on the multi-core test.
We expect Samsung to announce its flagship Galaxy S25 lineup during January, primarily around January 23. Typically, Samsung takes about two weeks from announcement to official release. In any case, once we get our hands on the S25 Plus, we'll be sure to put it through our testing gamut to see how it compares to the latest iPhone and these numbers.
