Nominations for the Golden Globe Awards were announced on Monday, December 9, and awards season is in full swing.
The Golden Globes honor the year's outstanding films and television programs. Emilia Perez was the top contender, earning a record 10 nominations (one more than last year's “Barbie”). It was followed by “The Brutalist” (7 nominations) and “Conclave” (6 nominations). In the TV category, “The Bear” topped all nominees with five nominations, followed by fellow Hulu residents “Only Murder in the Building” and “Shogun” with four. Overall, Netflix had a very successful Golden Globe Awards with 26 nominations (13 in film and 23 in television).
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be held on January 5, hosted by comedian Nicky Glazer. As already announced, Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B.
