LG's 2025 OLED TVs Leaked Ahead of CES - Introducing the LG C5 and G5

LG's C5 and G5 OLED TVs to be announced next year have leaked ahead of schedule.

The two sets, successors to this year's LG C4 and G4 OLED TVs, have appeared online for certification to be sold in Korea; according to FlatpanelsHD, the certification includes everything from model numbers to actual photos, giving LG's 2025 year TV lineup for the first glimpse.

Many gamers, especially those using the best gaming PCs, will find the G5 OLED's high 165 Hz refresh rate attractive. It is also the only LG OLED TV next year with an MLA OLED panel, and can be expected to offer much higher brightness than other products on the market.

These are leaked specifications, and things could change in the coming months, even before the two OLED TVs are officially announced; the C5 and G5 OLEDs will undoubtedly grace the stage at CES in January, along with several other new LG TVs.

The two sets were unintentionally leaked to the public after being certified for sale in Korea through the Institute of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Testing's database. The leak includes photos of the two new models, the model names, and even some interesting new specs that are particularly exciting for PC gamers.

Interestingly, some of the best LG TVs tend to be part of the best gaming TVs, and the upcoming LG G5 OLED will likely fit into both categories. First, the refresh rate will be raised to 165 Hz from the G4's 144 Hz. In addition, the G5 is also certified for VESA's ClearMR (motion clarity index), with a score of 10,000, up from the G4's 9,000.

Not only that, but like last year, it is the only next-generation LG OLED TV to use an MLA OLED panel, which offers much higher brightness than competing products. For comparison, our review of the LG G4 OLED showcased its staggering brightness, which is 1,487 nits for standard content and 1,617 nits for HDR. Even the best OLED TVs don't often see numbers like these, highlighting the brilliance of LG's MLA design and the G5's potential brightness numbers.

Unfortunately, little else was revealed, especially regarding the C5 OLED. Whether this model will feature a 165Hz refresh rate like the G5 is unknown, but LG will likely keep this spec for its most premium OLED TVs; more information on LG's 2025 lineup will be announced at CES in January, as soon as it becomes clear, Please stay tuned for further updates.
