IRobot is constantly pushing the envelope and setting new standards in robot vacuum cleaner technology The company's Roomba series features the latest innovations such as self-empty base and smart mapping
With the latest Roomba j7+, iRobot promises a new level of intelligence This includes recognizing and avoiding messy everyday floor items such as cables, socks, and most importantly, pet dander In fact, iRobot is so confident in the intelligence of the Roomba j7+ that it has introduced a "pet owner pledge" (POOP) to replace j7+ that fail to avoid pet waste
So how does the Roomba j7+ accomplish this? It features a new Genius 30 Home Intelligence system called "PrecisionVision Navigation" that uses machine learning to identify objects and improve recognition with each run When it detects an unknown object for the first time, it sends a photo of the obstacle via the iRobot Home app so you can tell it to clean around it or avoid it altogether It also provides feedback on the app so that Roomba j7+ will know how to approach such objects in the future
This newfound cleverness can be used in other areas as well Permanent obstacles like walls and tables can be predicted and the approach can be slowed down to make it cleaner along the edges It also features Smart Mapping, a useful option found on other premium models This allows Roomba j7+ to learn and record the floor plan so it can decide which rooms to clean and which to avoid from the app It also recommends the best time of day and frequency for cleaning, taking into account when you are away
Like the Roomba S9+, Roomba i7+, and Roomba i3+, the j7+ comes with an automatic cleaning base However, the design has been redesigned, measuring 158 x 133 x 119 inches It also has a sleeker look, so it won't feel obtrusive if it can't be hidden j7+ itself measures 133" in diameter and 34" tall
iRobot's other Roombas also get an upgrade: The Genius 30 Home Intelligence System is now available on the entire line of iRobot connected robotic vacuums Some of the new features include:
This technology is a welcome addition to the robot vacuum market and opens the door to more pet owners We can't wait to test the Roomba j7+ and see if it really delivers on its pet poop promise
The Roomba j7+ robot vacuum cleaner with CleanBase automatic waste disposal is available now from iRobotcom for $849 It will be available at select retailers on September 19 It can also be purchased without the clean base for $649 from iRobotcom The Roomba j7+ and j7 are also available in Europe
