Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that all Tesla vehicles with "fully automated" (FSD) capabilities will have the auto-shift feature as an option

For those who don't know, auto-shift is a Tesla feature that allows electric cars to operate with some degree of autonomy, which Elon Musk claims is like "mind reading"

More precisely, it is an optional feature if the car is equipped with the FSD option, which allows the car to shift gears on its own

Elon Musk promises that the auto-shift feature will be able to do more, including making three-point turns on its own, but for now it is all about shifting from park

In other words, Autopilot decides whether to shift into drive or reverse based on how the driver needs to start driving However, anything beyond that, such as shifting from reverse back into drive, must be done by the driver

This feature was originally announced in January and confirmed to be available on the 2021 Model S and Model X

The FSD option is available on the 2021 Model S and Model X However, it must be equipped with the FSD option This option costs $10,000 upfront or $199 per month as part of Tesla's new FSD subscription

Like many of Tesla's new high-end features, including the AAA game, there was no mention of whether this feature would be available on the Model 3 or Model Y
