Jaguar will introduce the 2022 model year I-Pace electric SUV to the US, introducing advanced features that the US missed when the 2021 Jaguar I-Pace skipped the US
The 2022 Jaguar I-Pace will have a number of upgrades over the 2020 I-Pace, the last I-Pace in the US, including an improved infotainment system, faster charging, and a digital rearview mirror
Faster charging is one of the most important changes this year, and the 2022 I-Pace will come standard with an 11 kW on-board AC charger; DC fast charging speeds will remain the same at 100 kW, but for those times when you really need to refuel quickly, fast charging will provide a range of 63 miles in 15 minutesThe new infotainment system comes standard with dual SIM connectivity and a Meridian 3D surround sound system The latter includes the ability to update the infotainment, battery management, and charging system without plug-ins
The Pivi-Pro infotainment system is also designed to allow drivers to access 90% of common tasks with just two taps on the screen This would be incredibly useful, as many automakers seem to ignore the fact that touchscreens are difficult to use when you are focused on the road; Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available
And for longer trips, Pivi Pro can create route maps, optimize where to charge, and show remaining charge at any waypoint These maps are kept up-to-date wirelessly, another benefit of the improved update system
Drivers can also enjoy additional driver assistance features such as a new 3D surround camera and ClearSight rear view digital mirror for constant visibility These join existing driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, steering assist, heads-up display, and emergency braking
In terms of cost, the 2022 Jaguar I-Pace is priced just $50 more than the previous model, starting at $69,900 As for power, it has 394 horsepower, 512 lb-ft of torque, all-wheel drive, 0-60 mph acceleration in 45 seconds, and all the luxury one would expect from any Jaguar vehicle This includes a PM25 filter to clean the cabin air
Jaguar has not announced when the 2022 I-Pace will be available, but it seems likely that it will begin rolling off the production line late this year or early next year
