Yeoh plays Evelyn Wang, who starts out as an ordinary woman leading a very normal life However, she discovers from another version of her husband that an alternate reality exists and that she is the key to saving everyone from destruction Evelyn must learn to harness her newfound powers to confront the would-be destroyer of the multiverse, another version of her daughter, Joy Ultimately, the genre fades away, revealing what this story truly means: love
