Forget NotebookLM - Eleven Labs Announces New Podcast Creation Tool

[and Eleven Labs has one heck of a new feature for those pressed for time.

ElevenLab's reader app has just been updated to allow users to convert PDFs, books, and even long emails into conversational podcasts. This is similar to Google's NotebookLM, but with more control over the source material.

This is probably not for everyone, and the following examples are a bit corny for my taste (do we really need a fairy tale podcast analysis?

Eleven Labs' Black Friday sale offers just $1 for a month and two months free when you sign up for an annual subscription It's not just about using the Reader app; it's about getting the most out of it. With a subscription, you can clone your own voice or create a radio show with sound effects.

You can import content from everywhere to “create your own podcast,” according to Eleven Labs' latest post.

It does so by providing two AI “co-hosts” built from the company's AI voice models across 32 languages.

Currently, this feature is only available on iOS, but Eleven Labs plans Android support “in the coming weeks.”

The idea of reading through a long contract like a digestible discussion is definitely appealing in my line of work, but dropping a news page to catch up while out for a walk also seems like a great idea.

You could even create your own weekly podcast based on a selection of news, from chatter about SpaceX's new launch to the latest political news, all in seconds.
